What data and why

From the Booking form: dates of stay, number of adults and children, children's ages, a note, first name, last name, email and phone number, if provided. From the Contact form: name, email, phone, number of guests, dates and the text of your message.

We use the data only to respond to your enquiry, check room availability and, where relevant, prepare an offer for your stay. The legal basis is taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Without an email address and name we cannot reply to you; the phone number is optional.

We do not use the data for marketing and do not sell it to anyone.

How long

Your enquiry arrives by email at reception and is also saved in the hotel's database, so it is not lost if the email fails to arrive. We automatically delete it from the database after 12 months. If the enquiry turns into a booking, further processing is governed by the rules for accommodating guests.

Who has access to the data

Reception and hotel management. We are technically assisted by processors who may only handle the data according to our instructions: Vercel Inc. (running the website), Neon Inc. (database, data stored in the EU, Frankfurt) and Resend (delivering email to reception). Vercel and Resend are US companies; transfers to the US rely on the EU's standard contractual clauses, or on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Protection against form abuse

To protect the form against automated spam, we count how many messages have arrived from one connection. We do not store your IP address itself, only a one-way hash of it, which we delete after 24 hours.

Cookies and visitor statistics

The website uses no cookies and no advertising or tracking tools from third parties. We measure traffic with our own simple tool that works without cookies. We store the pages visited, the time, where you came from (a referring website or a campaign tag in the link), the device type, screen resolution, browser and approximate location (country and city) derived from the IP address. We do not store the IP address itself, only a one-way hash that changes every day, so you cannot be tracked over the long term or identified afterwards. The data is kept for 400 days. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in finding out how the website is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); you can object by writing to booking@selecthotel.cz. The map on the pages is embedded from Google Maps, or OpenStreetMap; these services may process your IP address when the map is displayed, according to their own policies.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict its processing, receive it in a portable format, and object to its processing. Simply write to booking@selecthotel.cz.

If you believe we are handling your data contrary to the rules, you can file a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (www.uoou.cz).
